Society Activities

ADIPS offers the following benefits to Full Members:-

• Receive regular newsletters and e-Bulletins
• Discount on registration fees to attend the Annual Scientific Meeting
• Participate and present at the Annual Scientific Meeting
• Apply for a number of awards at the Annual Scientific Meeting (as part of the abstract submission process) including the ADIPS Graz Clock Award, Emerging Investigator Award, Allied Health Presentation Award and Outstanding Poster Award
• Travel Grants to attend the Annual Scientific Meetings for Junior Investigators are also available
• Apply for the ADIPS-Novo Nordisk Research Grants for Scientific, Clinical & Education Research. The winners from these grants have the opportunity to present their research findings at a future ADIPS Annual Scientific Meeting
• Join ADIPS Committees and participate in the development of our society
• Nominate for the ADIPS Limited Board of Directors
• Participate in other research, educational activities and projects conducting by the Australasian Diabetes In Pregnancy Society Limited.

Membership Categories & Eligibility

General Membership

Any medical graduate, scientist or health care professional interested in diabetes in pregnancy person who is engaged in research, or in the practice in the field of diabetes in pregnancy, or who has demonstrated particular interest in this area, is eligible for membership.

Honorary Life Membership

The nomination will be considered by the Board (members of the Board having a conflict of interest in the nomination are to declare that conflict and abstain from voting) and if, in the opinion of Board the nominee is distinguished by their contribution to the knowledge of diabetes related to pregnancy or to the welfare of people with this condition and is worthy of the distinction, the member will be conferred with honorary life membership at the following AGM.

Membership Fees

(Admission to membership at any stage during the year will still attract a full year subscription fee)

Fees for Australian Residents

Tier 1 – Medical Practitioners - $198.00 (includes $18 GST)

This tier includes independent medical practitioners in current clinical practice (eg. Physicians, Obstetricians, General Practitioners etc).

Tier 2 – Researchers, Nurses, Allied Health and Registrars - $121.00 (includes $11 GST)

This tier includes Basic Researchers, Registered Nurses, Diabetes Educators, Midwives, Dietitians, Podiatrists, Registrars, Advanced Trainees, and any other health professional (medical or scientific) working in diabetes in pregnancy.

Tier 3 – Students - $99.00 (includes $9 GST)

This tier includes medical and scientific students who are enrolled in a training program and have not graduated and are not earning a salary over $30K.

Fees for Residents outside Australia

Tier 1 – Medical Practitioners - $180.00 (no GST)

This tier includes independent medical practitioners in current clinical practice (eg. Physicians, Obstetricians, General Practitioners etc).

Tier 2 – Researchers, Nurses, Allied Health and Registrars - $110.00 (no GST)

This tier includes Basic Researchers, Registered Nurses, Diabetes Educators, Midwives, Dietitians, Podiatrists, Registrars, Advanced Trainees, and any other health professional (medical or scientific) working in diabetes in pregnancy.

Tier 3 – Students - $90.00 (no GST)

This tier includes medical and scientific students who are enrolled in a training program and have not graduated and are not earning a salary over $30K.

Honorary Life Members

Are not required to pay membership fees to the Society.

NOTE:  If your fees fall more than 2 months in arrears, you are no longer entitled to the benefits of your membership until your fees are paid.

Membership Approval Process

Once applications are received online, they are submitted to the Membership Committee for consideration.  The Membership Committee will recommend the applications at the next ADIPS Board Meeting.  The Society Office will inform the applicants of their membership status if unsuccessful.  Your membership fee must be paid at the time of applying for membership to be considered.  Once the fee is paid, you are an interim member and will have full access to all the membership benefits.  Please be sure to send a brief CV with your application if you are unable to provide details of a nominator and seconder who are both financial members of ADIPS to avoid delaying activation of your membership.
