The Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society are planning to update their Diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) guideline. Based on recent trial data, our aim is to review and develop evidence-based guidance that is practical and able to be used by all clinicians who care for pregnant women.
A GDM Diagnostic Guidelines Conference has been planned by ADIPS to run for a full day in Central Sydney, on Friday 10 May 2024. The purpose of the conference is to examine the available scientific evidence on how best to diagnose GDM and to draft a policy statement for discussion and subsequent publication.
ADIPS has invited representatives from key stakeholder organisations, state and territory health jurisdictions, consumer representatives with lived experience of gestational diabetes mellitus, and expressions of interest were invited from the Membership of ADIPS.
We are hoping for broad representation from physicians, obstetricians, general practitioners, nurses and midwives, diabetes educators, allied health professionals, consumers with a lived experience with GDM, state and territory health jurisdictions and key national diabetes stakeholders.
